Movement of the Mind part 6 – I Am the World

Our exploration into the movement of mindbody ends with more from
J. Krishnamurti and David Bohm.

When movement of our mindbody has its basis in thought, it divides us into me and them. But quantum physics tells us existence is not zillions of separate phenomena. It has proven that existence is a single phenomenon in which everything is contained. The perception of me as different from them exists only within our mind. The suffering we are trying to end is the suffering of our individuality. When our individuality falls away into the vastness of existence,
suffering falls away with it:

Bohm: What is suffering really? Why does it destroy intelligence? What is going on really?

Krishnamurti: It is the essence of the me. We don’t see that suffering is shared by all humanity.

B: In order to get out of suffering it’s necessary to realize it is not my suffering. Are you saying that the suffering of all mankind is all inseparable?

K: Yes sir.

B: As is the consciousness of mankind?

K: Yes, that’s right.

K: One has to go into the question of suffering, whether there is an end to suffering. As long as suffering and fear and the pursuit of pleasure exist, there cannot be love. There must be a freedom from suffering. That’s really a very serious and deep question. Whether it’s possible to end suffering. Which is the ending of me.

The world is me, or, I am the world.

B: When I say “I am the world,” what does that mean?

K: The world is no different from me. That’s real meditation. You must feel this, not just a verbal statement – it’s an actuality. The ending of suffering means love.
